The Economic Development Council for Central Illinois and the EDC Retail Strategy Group is in the process of accepting sites to be included in the upcoming Central Illinois Retail Study. The EDC has recently hired the consulting firm of Teska and Associates, Inc. to perform a Retail Study of several sites throughout the Central Illinois region.

The Retail Study will provide the information needed for successful retail attraction efforts including detailed information regarding retail potential for each targeted development/ redevelopment site, leakage analyses, customer profiles, recommendations of specific retailers that meet local customer demand, and prepare custom marketing packages for targeted retailers.

The study will develop focused strategies tailored to the unique circumstances of the sites and their respective communities. The consulting firm will work with communities to help to devise strategies to attract and retain retail. They will work to understand the needs of both your residents and businesses to provide economic development opportunities for your community.

The cost per site is based on the number of sites participating in the study. We are targeting a minimum of 9 sites, at an estimated cost of $5,000 - $6,000 per site. (The total cost for this project for 9 sites is estimated at $51,855.) Please note that if there are less than 9 participants, the cost per site will increase.
